National Distribution Through City Hall

Some of you may be scratching your heads about the April 20th CD release announcements popping up all over the internet for “Trance Groove” and my “national CD release” shows. My label Toulcat Records picked up national distribution through City Hall Records, one of the last great distributors of independent music. This means that, given retailer interest, the CD will be available on April 20th at your friendly neighborhood music stores and larger chains such as Barnes & Noble and Borders. It also means that I will have to pull “Trance Groove” from CDbaby and from digital distribution so, come March, the CD will be unavailable for a month or so. City Hall digital will pick up the CD and it will be back on the download sites by April 20th.

Physical distribution requires promotion so to that end we are working with fantastic publicist Mark Pucci. He is the source of the myriad of press releases turning up everywhere and is working hard to get us solid hard copy press. My thanks to Rick Lusher who is once again handling radio and doing a fantastic job. We are charting on the jam band charts and turning up on jazz, blues, and triple A radio in the US, Canada, Italy, Australia, Croatia, and it is still spreading. There will be another radio push to go with the national release.

Heartfelt thanks to my friend Tina Meadors. She is my webmaster/designer, handled the graphic design for “Trance Groove” and is continuing to go above and beyond the call by creating one sheets, advertisements, monitoring my websites, not to mention the innumerable little favors that add up to so much. She is also working on an updated design for julienkasper.com. There is simply no way I could do this without her!
